To start off this hotel is very close to the falls and the casino...but there are so many things around it that are boarded up and closed down that it is unreal.
When I booked the room I had stated that we would be checking in around 1:30am on the 25th. My room was rented from the 25th - 28th. I was told that it wouldn't be an issue at all, however when I arrived Austin (the night clerk) had trouble finding my room due to us checking in so early, but he accommodated us and just told us to see Jessica in the morning, that he was sorry for the confusion and that even though I would initially be charged for an extra night, it would be refunded. When I talked to Jessica the next morning she was very rude and raised her voice to me as if I had done something wrong. She let me know that it didn't matter what I had been told through messaging about it being fine to check in at 1:30 in the morning I should have booked the room for the 24th as well. I was simply trying to let her know that the reason I sent the message asking if it would be ok was to avoid the confusion. She rudely informed me "that's why you should have just called the hotel directly." I had to walk away. From what I was told she is rude and hateful to just about all the staff and accuses guests of lying all the time. I pray that she finds her peace.
Also we rented a room with a whirlpool tub....the room was pretty awesome, however the jets in the tub didn't work. Rather than deal with the hateful Jessica again. I just dealt with it :( Unfortunately if I come back to Niagara Falls I will not be staying at the Giacomo for these reasons. Also the views aren't the greatest from the hotel rooms. I suppose the Airbnb customers/tenants/offices get the best views.

Not very clean hotel. Looks very old and dusty everywhere.

Pros: clean sheets with a very comfortable bed and very friendly staff. Free parking which is a rarity at Niagara! Parking spots are tight though if you have a big truck may not be the place for you. Parking lot is secure as well. Location is great, 10 min walk or less to the American falls, you can walk to goat island too. 19 min walk over to Canada on rainbow bridge. Very friendly and accommodating staff

Cons: lots of false advertising!! I was so excited to have breakfast in bed! Everything on their website and even in the binder provided stated you could have breakfast in bed but front desk said no it’s buffet only on first floor. Also they claim they are a green hotel but then use single serve plastic plates and utensils and have no recycling in rooms. The only thing green seems to be the motion sensor lighting which could be an issue if you use a CPAP. Rooms are clean but definitely a bit dinged up around the edges. My biggest gripe is the cleanliness of the whirlpool tub. I wiped the tub down before drawing a bath and when I turned the jets on the amount of gunk that came out of the jets was disgusting and was floating around in the water.I was very disappointed as I had high hopes for the Giacomo. Lastly, breakfast was your standard continental breakfast as you would see at a comfort inn which is fine but not as advertised.

Spacious clean rooms. Gorgeous building and situated centrally. Lovely staff. Breakfast menu could be improved.

Great location however the neighborhood seems abandoned. Very dated property. It appears their normal excuse is we had several call outs and as result we do not have anyone at the bar or food services tonight. We had been up since 2am traveling all day so we were going to oversee those services offered. Upon entering our room I immediately noticed insects ???? crawling on the beds. I proceeded to alert the family to not unpack. Went to the reception and shared pictures about my findings. Not an apology was given but immediately “ do you want to check out?” The staff needs to learn service resolutions. We turned keys and walked out. For about an hour we were stranded in the streets until we were able to find another location in the Niagara area.

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly renovated Giacomo Hotel. The renovations were beautifully done, the hospitality of the entire staff was unsurpassed and the welcoming and accommodating customer service from Brandon and Tee was nothing less than 5 star. Without a doubt, if ever again we have the opportunity to visit the Niagara Falls area, the Giacomo Hotel will be our chosen stay for home away from home!

This is a pretty nice old hotel that has been renovated. The rooms a nice and big. The location is perfect very close to the Falls. Walking distance to what ever you need. The breakfast in the morning hits the spot.

Terrible experience with the property. They didn’t give me the room I paid for and the manager Jessica was less than professional about it and incredibly rude. Communication with property via booking absolutely terrible. To top it off the room smelled like sewage so badly I couldn’t even shower. Definitely do not recommend.

Booked a three night stay at The Giacomo Hotel in mid February. We booked a corner room expecting a scenic view of the area, however we found upon checking in that Floors 7 through 16 are all residential apartments. We ended up with a lovely corner room on the 2nd floor with a view of a wall and a parking lot.

There is also a MAJOR problem with the energy saving feature of the rooms. Rather than requiring a room key being inserted into a slot to provide power to the room, the rooms have a motion sensor mounted on the wall that turns on the power to the room when motion is detected.

Well when you fall asleep, the motion detectors will fail to detect you, causing you to wake up to a freezing cold room in the morning. If you have a medical device like a CPAP machine, it will shut off in the middle of the night unless plugged into a specific unmarked outlet. The front desk initially misidentified this outlet for me, so I spent my first night with my CPAP machine shutting off intermittently causing me to repeatedly wake up due to not being able to breath.

We also had a diesel generator fire up right outside of our window for 15 minutes straight when we were trying to sleep in...

We really wanted to like this hotel due to the vintage look, very friendly staff, and nice breakfast, but we will not be returning or recommending The Giacomo Hotel.

What an awesome quaint hotel! Shout out to the head of kitchen …. Corliss! Amazing person who works hard to make sure you start off every morning happy with breakfast! Love the detail in the art, especially the fireplace sides! Delicious afternoon cookies in lobby sealed the deal. Intriguing property.

My husband and I have stayed here twice now. We come on off season times and the price is very reasonable !! The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of Character. Both times we have stayed, the staff have been excellent! Looking forward to returning next year!

The hotel is clean, beautiful and great location. The best part was the staff as they were amazing and so friendly. The breakfast was good and we would definitely come back. Thank you to all the staff for making our trip so wonderful.

Our family of three and our dog stayed a week in the Majestic Suite...and wow!! The place is incredible, and the view is insane (14th floor)! The walk to the falls is nice, and we could do it several times a day since it was so close. I loved going at night! We went to the Buffalo Zoo one day, highly recommend! Papa John's is right there if you want something quick. Hard Rock is a short walk away. You can see the casino from the master bedroom , it's a short walk away! Would definitely recommend The Giacomo to friends and family visiting Niagara falls!!

This place needs a thorough cleaning. Showers were disgusting. Dust everywhere. Odd smell in our room and walls are thin.
Price point wasn't bad, but it was one of my only choices in the area with most of the other hotels booked up.
The only positive is a very cool view, though, if you go to floor 19. It's a full 360 view of the area. I think only guests have access.
The hotel has some really cool engravings. I belive it was also the oldest hotel in the area.

I would not recommend this hotel. It seems that it tries to hit a particular niche, but misses completely. This is definitely not a ‘family’ hotel, as it is not very kid friendly. And as a romantic getaway spot, it is very lacking. They appear to put all of their energy on first impressions, but the lasting impression of your stay will be one of disappointment.

For the price on the stay, there should be much more amenities offered, and you can see how they used to offer certain amenities, but don’t anymore.

For example:

- there were no robes in the room
- the (1) ice machine did not work and staff did not offer any solution to that
- the tv did not work half the time
- the bar had no food options at all
- despite being advertised, there is no option to have breakfast delivered to your room
- in addition to above, the breakfast was ‘ok’ but I have had better at holiday inn
- the rooms are decently decorated, but definitely have a an old and tired feel
- the hotel is marketed as ‘green’, which means that the plugs will shut off if there no movement detected for 45 minutes. Apparently green is in reference to their utility costs.

The only plus side to the hotel is location, which is very good. Near to the state park and right next to old falls street.

We stayed at The Giacommo for two nights to visit Niagara Falls. The hotel website states it's "The premiere luxury boutique hotel in Niagara Falls, NY", but we were disappointed. Whilst the rooms were clean, the staff polite and helpful, and location close the The Falls, the hotel is very tired and worn and in need of some maintenance and love.

We booked the the Niagara Falls "American & Canadian Tour" which the hotel website states includes "The Giacomo Essential Survival Bag", but we received nothing. We called the hotel to book the tour weeks before but despite numerous follow up emails and calls, only received confirmatuon a couple of days before. We would recommend booking directly with Over The Falls Tours (that operate the one advertised on the hotel website) who were excellent and cheaper direct!

Our booking information mentioned room service breakfast, but when we asked, we were informed it was no longer offered. The lounge bar was not offering food due to equipment malfunction so we were left to find our own meals elsewhere during the stay.

The breakfast offering was very limited and was far from luxury boutique, with cheap plastic plates and knives, and a very limited hot buffet. The fresh fruit salad and bakery items were excellent, and the service was perfect. Overall, we've had better breakfasts in a budget hotel.

We discovered that, although the hotel has 19 floors, most of this is taken up by office and residential space, with the hotel being a minor part of the business - it shows.

Overall, for us, The Giacommo over-promised and under-delivered.

We stayed one night on the 15th floor and booked through Airbnb. Our room and space was gorgeous and we had an excellent view of the 5 minute firework display over the falls that goes on from mid November through early January, on Friday and Saturday evenings at 8PM. The hotel is also dog friendly and has free parking. Walking distance to the falls, shops, and restaurants.

Overall great location and friendly staff. The hotel could use an update in some areas. The architecture of the building is awesome but things are starting to wear down. We would likely stay here again because of staff and location.

We enjoyed our stay here. Front desk service was friendly and breakfast service was wonderful, best free breakfast I’ve ever had and the woman running it was so delightful. Great experience.

Rooms were okay, tidy and clean but some of the wallpaper and wood detailing was damaged/scratched and curtains had a thick layer of dust on them. Everything else was very clean and bed was spacious and comfy, large shower as well. Housekeeping touch up servir daily was appreciated.

Free parking worked out well. Hotel was not able to accommodate early check in the day we arrived.

You can’t beat the location, it’s an 8 minute walk to the falls. I would definitely stay here again. Check out view from Sky Lounge on 19th floor!

This is a 4-star but old hotel. The room is nicely designed and decorated. The picture of the hotel usually shows a high rise bldg, the hotel only covers the lower 6 floors. If you do not get the 6th floor, you would probably see the back of the quality inn bldg. No nice view to see here.
