Emerging from its green setting, this castle, one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. Its construction began in the 13th century. It was originally occupied by lords, whose name has not been retained by history, except for the name of the Drašković who acquired it in 1566.
