Fortifications of the Civil War that were built from 1937 in the event of a landing from Mallorca

Three kilometers from the city center, near the natural harbor of l'Estany, the Civil War fortifications(Bateria de la costa) were built from 1937 along the coast, in the event of a landing from Mallorca that never happened. With three firing platforms and four separate entrances (two of them designed to supply the powder magazines), the fortifications dominate the Gulf of Sant Jordi. On site there are explanatory panels and historical photographs to illustrate the visit.
