INTERNATIONAL STORYTELLING CENTER
Center located in Jonesborough, seeking to preserve and promote the art of storytelling, Appalachian culture
Here comes the residence of storytellers from all over the world, but mainly from the English-speaking world. The centre seeks to preserve and promote the art of storytelling: the culture of the Appalachians is essentially an oral tradition that is to be preserved. Here you will see wonderful storytellers performances, especially at the National Storytelling Festival, which takes place every year for three days at the beginning of October. This event attracts crowds and one comes from all over the world listening to storytellers under great user-friendly tents.
