LAC DE CHAUMEÇON
A place to practice white water sports with a wild setting of water and forests, an open air and leisure base
Built in 1935 on the Chalaux, a tributary of the Cure, the 135-hectare Chaumeçon lake welcomes visitors in a wild setting of water and forests in the heart of the Morvan Regional Natural Park. The dam is a gravity dam 42 m high and 196 m wide, retaining 19 million cubic metres of water. Chaumeçon is the ideal place to practice white water sports or swimming, as well as a dream site for mountain biking, hiking (three hiking loops are proposed), and fishing. And when fall arrives, it's like Canada... just waiting to be seen!
