CLASSIC WEEK
An elegant and sporty event created in 1994, the Classic Week is a demonstration born of the commemoration of the first rendez-vous of the motor canoes that were born in 1904 in Monaco. The arrival in Monegasque rigging waters such as ' (1908), a 15 m from the King of Spain Alphonse XIII and Sister-ship of Tuiga, is not without recalling that the crowned heads were regularly confronted on Monegasque waters and on the Riviera during the golden age of the yachting. Over the course of a week, more than 80 beautiful units are moored at the port or go down the waves showing the liveliness of the maritime heritage in the Principality. A virtuoso of the lavish regatta and festive parties, the Yacht Club brings together a spectacular spectacle, a magnificent fleet where small and large pleasure is combined: motor canoes, steam-yachts, hacker boats, Chris Craft, age yachts and large boats of tradition as many units whose regularity and manoeuvrability tests judged at the Elegant Competition are close to those to which were subjected the canoes of 1904! On board the rigging is a second competition, this time with embedded chefs who stress the importance of good living on board while timed regatta races see competition between sloops, ketchs, yawls and schooners. Amateur or novice, the show is guaranteed for a week between tradition and modernity. Seven days when it is good to walk on the docks of the Port Hercules to scrutinize unique boats and a forest of poles flowers on the waters of the Mediterranean.
