OCEANOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF MONACO
Dive into the Mediterranean and discover the underwater fauna and flora thanks to an exceptional exhibition
Built on the side of the Prince's Rock, the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco has been contemplating the Mediterranean Sea from the top of its 85 meters for over a century. In this establishment dedicated to the marine world, history and scientific news complement each other wonderfully. Between exploration, arts and sciences, the visit is marked out by impressive collection pieces. The Museum has a Monaco and the Ocean area dedicated to exploration and protection.
Interesting thematic temporary exhibitions complete the discovery of this fascinating place. In the basement, the aquarium is one of the highlights of the visit.
The 600 m² roof terrace is home to the Malian ridley turtles offered to Prince Albert II. A space for visiting and raising awareness is dedicated to them: The Odyssey of the Marine Turtles.
ESCAPE GAME, TO DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE MARINE WORLD WHILE HAVING FUN. The Oceanographic Museum has recently opened a brand new, totally immersive game room, with several possible modes, to be played with family or friends. Here you are on board the Princess Alice II, the famous laboratory ship of Prince Albert I, the Prince navigator. In this decor inspired by the marine world, with collectibles, laboratory tools and fittings, your explorer's soul will be greatly solicited to carry out the mission entrusted to you. The scenario is simple: at sea for several days, you are part of the elite of marine exploration gathered around the Prince, during his expedition off Cape Verde, in 1901. But a violent storm prevents you from carrying out the study of deep-sea species, as planned, and you take refuge in the laboratory. Bad luck: the door has closed behind you, the engines have stopped, the boat is prey to the winds and tides and the net that was lowered to the sea bed to discover new species threatens to break... Can you make it back to land without losing your precious discoveries?
Practical information: In beginner or advanced mode, from three to six players, this experience requires between 30 and 60 minutes of play, depending on the level chosen. Special rates apply if you have already purchased a ticket for the Museum. Youngsters as young as seven years old are welcome in beginner mode.
