About 20 km from Michalovce, the Vihorlat volcanic mountain range offers great opportunities for walks in a sparsely populated region. The main attraction remains the main peak, the Vihorlat at 1,076 metres, the lake in an ancient volcanic crater, Morské Oko (the eye of the sea) or the difficult climb to reach Sninský Kameň at 1,005 metres. There are also many camping and accommodation options in the area.
