MUSEO TECLEÑO
Museum in Santa Tecla telling the story of the town through photographs, maps and documents.
The Museo Municipal Tecleño is housed in a building constructed at the very beginning of the 20th century, originally a penitentiary for people convicted of common crimes (theft, scandals...). Designed by the architect José Jerez (who also designed the city's Municipal Palace), it is very well preserved and houses a collection of relics recovered during the building's restoration (weapons, cannons, etc.) and serves as a venue for exhibitions and performances by contemporary Salvadoran artists.
