Entirely dedicated to the maritime history of the Hudson River, this museum is located in the heart of Kingston's historic district, which includes more than 250 19th century buildings. It was founded in 1980 and moved into this former boat shop three years later. The museum is quite small but instructive. Among the collections, pieces from old ships but also paintings and photos depicting life along the Hudson River. Boat tours are organized in summer, as well as guided tours of the Roundout Lighthouse, the city's lighthouse.
