At an altitude of 1,843 metres and about a four-hour walk from Likhubula, this colonial building was once the home of Freddie France, a forest ranger who died trying to cross the swollen Ruo River in 1949. Renovated in 2005, this former forest house can accommodate six people in more comfortable conditions than other standard refuges: two small bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with bunk beds. Small living room with open fireplace. Running water and pit toilets.
