On this vertiginous balcony at the edge of the Sani chasm, we assure you that the view is worth the trip. This is a real chalet. Skis and antediluvian ski boots for rent, a fireplace, wooden tables and a counter where hot tea and beer flow. Great atmosphere at night when it's snowing outside. You can go hiking and rent ponies from the Lethian villagers. Dormitories with shared sanitary facilities, bring warm clothes and towels, or in more luxurious rondavels. Nestled here: the famous highest pub in Africa!

Nous voulions dormir en haut du Sani pour avoir la chance de descendre cette route mythique dès l'ouverture de la frontière. Si le midi l'établissement était bondé, nous avons eu la chance de l'avoir pour nous tous seuls pour le dîner et pour la nuit. La vue est top, le personnel adorable et les possibilités de randonnées autour sont multiples. Nous avons séjourné dans un chalet/rondavel car la météo a eu raison de nous... Nous n'avions pas le courage de sortir pour aller du dortoir aux sanitaires. Les chalets sont simples mais joliment décorés, le chauffage au charbon crée une ambiance particulière mais le froid continue de se faire sentir. La cuisine est bonne et à un prix raisonnable pour le lieu.

La fenêtre vers l'AFS, un endroit magnifique. Nous avons partagé un dortoir confortable et très bien mangé. Mais surtout...quelle vue à couper le souffle !
