CFL Caminho de Ferro de Luanda E.P. is the operator of the Bungo-Malange-Bungo railway line and operates from the new station, opened in 2013 after 20 years of interruption. The Luanda-Malange line had been destroyed during the civil war, like all other rail links in the country. Railways were indeed the major strategic targets during the civil war and were destroyed and mined. The reconstruction work lasted several years.
