It is the first defensive fortification built in Angola under the orders of the first governor of Angola, Paulo Dias of Novais. This fortress, on the polygonal route, was built at the end of the th century on Mount São Paulo, renamed today mount de la Forteresse - Morro da Fortaleza - overlooking the bay and the island of Luanda.
The fully preserved fortress São Miguel remains the main visual benchmark of the luandais urban landscape. It is now home to the Museu Nacional de História Militar.

il n'est pas très intéressant
récemment restauré pour une visite du président, il n'est pas très intéressant et la vue laisse à désirer. En plus, quand j'étais là-bas, ils nous ont bloqués pendant une demi-heure pour tirer 10 coups de canon (à blanc j'espère) pour les exercices. Temps passé à observer un joli guêpier dans les buissons en contrebas

Magnifique vue sur la baie de Luanda. Splendides azulejos et objets significatifs sur l'histoire de l'Angola. A ne pas manquer !
