MUSEU DO DUNDO
The museum was established in 1936 by the Diamond Company of Angola, Diamang, to study and preserve regional cultural, ethnographic, folklore and musical riches. First such museum in Angola! He became an ethnographic museum in 1942. His curator José Redinha, an expert in the study of the peoples of Angola, contributed to scientific research and knowledge sharing through the publication of quality research.
A new permanent exhibition (relating to aspects of the daily life of local indigenous peoples through ages, their political organization, hunting and economic activities) was added, as well as a male introductory room called «Mukanda» in Tchokwé language, one of the country's six major languages. Knowledge of these rituals, US traditions and customs, is lost, mainly in urban areas.
The museum also has a special diamond room to familiarize the general public of this diamond region with this mineral.
