ACTIV ASSOCIATION
Present in Vanuatu since 2008, Activ Association provides social, economic and ecological support to disadvantaged and marginalized people in Vanuatu through fair trade. A member of the Australian and New Zealand Fair Trade Association (FTAANZ) in partnership with Adelaide University of Agricultural Sciences, Activ has more than 115 members representing communities, cooperatives, small producers and artisans on the islands of Ambae, Pentecote, Maewo, Paama, Tanna, Erromango, Puninga, Ambrym, Futuna, Vanua Lava, Araki, Gaua, Mallicolo, Mataso, Aneithyum and Efate. You can visit the centre of Activ with its farés and/or its shop in the city centre. In the centre, a production site, you will be able to take part in the "chocolate tour" in order to understand the long process of chocolate production. Of course, it is possible to buy Aelan chocolate as well as the local handicrafts of the Vanuatu women and to see small manufacturing workshops. Today, coconut oil is also produced there. Activ thus helps women to valorize coconuts into oil. You will then find several products at your disposal: care oil, tamanu, cocoa butter, honey, sculptures... Other projects are to come, such as dried fruit in the near future. A great initiative to support to give meaning to your shopping!
