SUZANNE BASTIEN FOUNDATION
Located on a 3 hectare site on the edge of Pango beach, the Suzanne Bastien Foundation is a space used as a temporary or permanent exhibition room for various contemporary artists. Suzanne, a schoolteacher in Nouméa, acquired this property in 1964 and had many trees and plant species planted. This foundation is the continuation of its work in favour of the environment and artists. It is also a gift that she wanted to give to Vanuatu before her death in 2013. Country in which she had lived since 1960. Suzanne had three projects in creating this foundation: the preservation of the property, the creation of a contemporary art gallery, housing two exhibitions: the permanent explosion "Maps Blong Vanuatu" with paintings by the French painter Patrice Cujo and an exhibition room for contemporary artists. The third objective is the reception and residency of artists. The place being perfectly suited for creation. The place is very pleasant and the welcome charming
