IGLESIA SANTIAGO APÓSTOL
This white colonial church in Conchagua has been preserved since it was built in 1693 and is dedicated to Santiago Apóstol
In Conchagua's central square, you won't want to miss the village's white church, dedicated to Santiago Apóstol: it's a pure colonial jewel, well preserved since its construction in 1693, and a National Heritage Site in El Salvador. In fact, it is one of the oldest buildings in this part of the country. The church was built using calicanto, a mixture of sand, lime, stone and egg white, which was widely used at the time. It comprises a main tower and two bell towers.
