Frantz Joseph, Maître Restaurateur, offers surprising, innovative cuisine steeped in tradition, thanks to his masterful use of local produce. On the day we came, we loved the eggs en meurette with mushrooms, followed by a duck breast with honey and orange, and finished with a crottin de Chavignol flambéed in old rum. In the dining room, on the terrace or by the fireside for tea time, Le Grand Monarque fully delivers on its promises. And it's home to a charming hotel where the Burgundian art of living works wonders.
