MUSEUM WASAKA
Visit this museum to learn about the history of South Kalimantan, including the struggle for independence from Dutch colonialism
The name "WASAKA" stands for "Waja Sampai Kaputing" and comes from a Banjar battle cry meaning that the battle will not be over until the last drop of blood has been shed. The museum provides an insight into the history of South Kalimantan, including the struggle for independence from Dutch colonialism. Around 400 objects are on display, including typewriters, traditional weapons, cameras and an antique bicycle used to transmit secret letters without the knowledge of the Dutch colonizers.
