This site is a real enchantment! You feel like you get to heaven. Ratna Ling is a Buddhist retreat located in the middle of dozens of hectares of wild forests, far from all urbanity, offering the rental of very comfortable and beautiful chalets, with two large bedrooms, a huge living room, a bathroom with a whirlpool, a terrace, wooden and wood. You're surrounded by redwood, you cross biches, racoons, and even black-footed, you're watching beautiful birds. In calm and in the right air, a ressourçante atmosphere is added. You eat in the common house, in a calm and joyful atmosphere at a time, on the terrace or in a large, warm room, fresh food, varied and absolutely delicious (vegetarian however). Ratna Ling also houses the largest publishing house of Buddhist books in Tibetan. Each year a cargo loaded with sacred works for Calcutta, which are distributed during the great World Peace Ceremony, which gathers Buddhists from the Tibetan lineage from all over Asia and elsewhere.

Ratna Ling is an NGO founded in Berkeley in the 1970 s following the arrival in California of Tarthang Tulku, Spiritual Master and Sanskrit Teacher. Tarthang Tulku is also the founder of the Tibetan Méditation Meditation Centre at Berkeley. Ratna Ling is committed to developing peace and supporting Tibet. Its pension centre, open to all, is not only a haven of peace but also an ideal base for enjoying the Sonoma Bay and discovering the natural parks of this portion of the north coast. An unbeatable price ratio on this area. Most: Tibetan yoga stays are regularly scheduled.

If you’re looking for a truly welcoming, genuinely friendly, stress free, beautiful, serene, quiet place to reconnect with yourself, and learn a little about meditation and/or mindfulness, and maybe a little about Tibetan Buddhism in the West, and support a great organization working towards helping human beings on our journey towards inner and outer peace, then this is the place for you!
The accommodations are spacious, lovely, clean, and comfortable, and the vegetarian food (with vegan options) is delicious and plentiful.
Check it out! Just FYI I never write these types of reviews- so it’s the real deal.

I had a wonderful experience attending a retreat at Ratna Ling. It is a peaceful space that encourages rejuvenation, from the spacious cabins with lovely views to the many walking trails and ocean breeze. The food was truly amazing and perhaps the greatest surprise. Everyone there was kind. I will be back for sure!

I loved Ratna Ling. I went for writing conference, but I'd love to go there and just spend a week writing by myself. The meals were fabulous and they accommodated my food allergies, for which I'm very grateful. And the food was delicious.

The cabins are fantastic. Sitting on the deck and lifting my head to stare at the trees periodically and then going back to my writing. So great. And the cabins were comfortable and there are walking trails and it was all just fabulous.

What a wonderful, peaceful, invigorating space to experience. The facility is thoughtfully and artfully designed…the food is beyond amazing…and the grounds are vast and lovely. I’ve been here many times and each visit leaves me inspired and renewed.

Love! I would give it more stars if I could. My fiancé and I did our first retreat as a couple here and it really does live up to its reputation: the teachers are amazing, the meditation is taught in a comprehensive and educational way, the vegetarian food is so good, and the location is gorgeous. The vibe is immediately soothing. We went for a compassion weekend retreat that involved learning mantra chanting and sacred art making (we made mani stones). It was so unique and I left with a much more open heart. I can’t wait to return one day!
