FERME-AUBERGE DU HILSEN
A wood-paneled hostel offers excellent local cuisine in Linthal.
You have to climb to an altitude of 900 meters to enjoy a superb view over the Munster valley, and then take a tour of this wooden inn, run by the very friendly Wick family since 1980. The food on offer is excellent, and the anecdotes about mountain life in winter are priceless... Local produce is king here, with tasty, fresh tomme cheese sold by the slice. The meal consists of soup, pie, potato salad, smoked meat, cheese and dessert. Enough to settle the stomachs of even the most motivated hikers. You can also order a delicious sauerkraut, baeckeoffe or pot-au-feu. In the evening, we prepare a snack with bacon, cheese and eggs until 9pm. As well as the tomme mentioned above, you can also buy excellent dairy products such as munster, yoghurt, butter, milk... It's worth the climb, for real.
