Travel back in time as you explore restored semi-troglodytic houses, witnesses to Graufthal's past.
This place was used as warehouses in the Middle Ages, then as housing after the throes of the Thirty Years War. In the 17th century, masonry work transformed these refuges into dwellings, which were still occupied at the beginning of the 20th century and one of them until 1958! The visit allows you to imagine the harsh living conditions of the occupants at that time. These three semi-troglodytic houses clinging to the pink sandstone wall have been restored and given new colors. Two of them have been refurnished and the other one houses an exhibition.
