High, rocky mountains, an extremely scenic viewpoint at Acoma Pueblo.
As you leave Acoma Pueblo to the north, on Indian Service Route 38, you climb a rocky mountain at the top of which is a parking area overlooking the Acoma Pueblo valley. It's an extremely panoramic viewpoint. Be warned, though, as the wind blows very hard, making it a less than ideal spot for a picnic. Residents of Acoma Pueblo are often on hand to sell traditional pottery and ceramics to passers-by. An opportunity to meet the locals and take home a souvenir.
