The state's largest botanical garden dedicated to California native plants is located in Claremont.
The 35-hectare California Botanic Garden (formerly Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden) is the largest botanical garden in the state dedicated to California native plants. It contains some 70,000 plants. Established in 1927 by Susanna Bixby Bryant on her rancho in Orange County, the garden moved to Claremont in 1951. The facility, run by a nonprofit organization, was renamed the California Botanic Garden in 2019.
