PAKISTAN MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY
The Natural History Museum is divided into five galleries. The Bio Gallery provides information on the fauna and flora of Pakistan. The Thethys Gallery focuses on the salt range (a collection of mountains in Pakistan's Punjab, consisting of vast rock salt deposits), aquatic life, rocks and minerals. You can also see a whale skeleton in the centre. The third gallery is dedicated to precious and semi-precious stones. Galerie Eco is interested in earth sciences, botany and zoology. Finally, in the Palaeo gallery is exhibited a collection of fossils from Pakistan, some of which are 650 million years old. The visit is interesting, but if you are not passionate about life and earth sciences and you don't have much time in Islamabad, you can miss it without much regret.
