About 75 kilometres from Bahawalpur, Uch Sharif is a city not to be missed. Some claim that it was founded by Alexander the Great, who thought that the cities established at the confluence of several rivers flourished until eternity. Uch Sharif is a very peaceful little town, where children play in the dusty alleys while the veiled women go shopping at the market. The place is especially famous for its many and magnificent Sufi temples. All are open to the public, but temple guardians will sometimes ask you for a few rupees. Don't miss the tombs of Bibi Jawindi, Baha'al Halim and Ustead and that of Jalaluddin Bukhari.
