SHANGRILA RESORT HOTEL
About 20 minutes from Skardu, Shangrila Resort Hotel is a group of chalets with Japanese roofs located around Lake Kachura. The setting is beautiful but the establishment, built in the early 1980s, is starting to age a little and the staff is not always up to the task. The rooms are quite warm, with carpeting and walls sometimes covered with bamboo. You can eat Chinese dishes at the Pagoda restaurant, located by the lake, Pakistani and continental specialities at the Lakeview Restaurant, which offers a panoramic view of the complex, or on the terrace of the Tandoori village, which offers typical Pakistani dishes (Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kababs, Mutton Tikkas, grilled fish). The DC 3 coffee shop is a coffee shop installed in an old aircraft refurbished after having landed in a crash in the area.
