SERENA SHIGAR FORT

A sumptuous and unique complex that includes two recent buildings and a 400-year-old fort. It is the former palace of the Shigar raja, which has been renovated and transformed into a thirteen-room hotel. The former courtroom now serves as a museum and displays carved wooden pieces and objects related to Baltistan. The rooms are magnificent and full of charm. The original structure, with carved wooden beams and pillars, has been preserved and restored. With its stone walls and wooden tables, Fong Khar restaurant is just as charming. A la carte, local, Pakistani, Chinese and continental specialities. All this is set in a peaceful green setting.
