LES MOULURES BILLEBAULT
Billebault is one of the last artisanal frame mouldings factories in France. It was recently awarded the Entreprise du patrimoine vivant label.
History. For more than fifty years, Billebault has been making wooden mouldings for framers, art galleries and museums. They produce worked wood ready to be assembled for framing. This house of excellence uses its artisanal and custom-made know-how to create frames that can reach several tens of metres in length, or to perfect reproductions of antique mouldings. From cutting wood to varnishing chopsticks, Billebault creates unique pieces, handcrafted by a team of professionals trained by itself. To begin with, the company buys wood on a French or exotic tray. It is then shortened to the desired length, then given the shape of a chosen moulding, then the location of a painting or photo is dug, possibly decorated with a wooden veneer, and finally painted and varnished
Products. The company specializes in art framing mouldings: assembled frames, burned wood, raw veneer, buffer varnishes, coloured wood, gaze frames.
Employment. Billebault generates about twenty jobs in its 1,500 m² workshops.
