This magnificent bridge, located parallel to Interstate 40, is one of the longest single span bridges in New Mexico
Located parallel to Interstate I-40, this beautiful bridge dates back to 1933. It was funded by the federal government as part of then-President Franklin D. Roosevelt's efforts to use emergency funds for highway construction. Its truss structure was chosen to withstand the high floods of the Rio Puerco. At 250 feet (76 meters) long, it is one of the longest single span bridges in New Mexico. Now closed to traffic, it is possible to walk across it.
