MOBUTU PALACE

Impressive, as always, to see these sumptuous palaces built by Marshal Mobutu in his heyday, in the image of his ego and his presumed power, with many colonnades, gilding and annexes. This palace of Lisala, built in an arc, was built in his birthplace. The structures are still solidly anchored and the ensemble offers a magnificent view of the river, in the middle of nature. A beautiful black marble sculpture of a mother and child still adorns the entrance. A certain vision of the future now frozen.
