JARDIN DES BENEDICTINS

An archaeological garden with a beautiful esplanade featuring benches, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the site.
This beautiful archaeological garden faces the chevet. It was the site of excavations that began in the 1970s. Excavations brought to light the primitive church of Saint-Laurent, built in the 11th century. Burnt down in 1559, it was destroyed in the 17th century after falling into ruin. A beautiful esplanade with benches allows visitors to bask in the beauty of the priory site. Not, of course, without first admiring the extreme meticulousness of the priory church's architectural details. Magnificent!
