OHEKA CASTLE
Built in 1919 for the modest sum of $ 11 million (equivalent to current $ 110 million), it was the financial side of the financier and philanthropist Otto Hermann Kahn. Oheka remains the second largest private house in the United States with 10,100 m ² and 127 rooms. This remains part of the Golden Season manors that can be visited on Long Island's Golden Coast, and this is probably the most ambitious of all Gold Coast mansions. The architecture of the site is inspired directly by the castles and the French garden, with the models of Fontainebleau castle. After his abandonment and virtual destruction, the current owner, Gary Melius, bought her and invested $ 30 million in his renovation. Oheka Castle has been transformed into a luxury hotel and a restaurant. More than an exceptional resort, it is also a popular place for Hollywood productions. From the monumental Citizen Kane d 'Orson Welles to a Taylor Swift clip, passing through the Royal Pains series, the castle hosts numerous filings. Maybe you could cross Meryl Streep at the bar or the Clinton in the restaurant during your stay.
