Here is the only thalassotherapy in the United States. Indoor Seawater Pool, Spa, Gym: The Mission's mission is also the only hotel in Montauk on the seafront. The huge private beach is waiting for you to relax or get married on the fine sand.

I did not stay in the hotel for the weekend. I attended the spa for the full day on Saturday, April 13. Let me preface this review with my massage was $260 before an automatic 20% gratuity and 2% service charge. Total cost for one hour massage was $333.00. I'm not too mad about the price because I also got to use their pool for the day and stay there for the day as well as the sauna and the hot tub, but you could go to Sojo in Edgewater, New Jersey and pay much less. Also, in terms of the price I feel like the customer service was really lacking. When I checked in no one is available to show you down to the locker room. I have a great sense of direction, but I was really confused in the darkness. The spa is a rotation of people. It's very busy. There is not clear communication. It's pretty confusing and just mass production. The cleaners are doing an excellent job, but they can't keep up with the demand so there are towels and bathrobes everywhere because people don't know how to clean up after themselves. Again, I should state that the cleaning people are working their tails off. Also, strangely, none of the bathrooms that I used in the spa had paper towels to dry your hands. They had tissues which does not work and or there was no hand dryer. There was one bathroom with washcloths to use for hand towels. I did see the Spa Director and he did mention that he was the Director many times to the general public and I really did not see him directing people in the way that they should be, he could also have trained his staff to be more attentive. There was a sound bath that I attended before my massage and it was moved into the pool area due to weather and there were screaming children in the background. Now both people are entitled to their time at the pool; the young families and Soundbath attendees, but I'm not sure mixing them is a great idea. For the price that you're paying the massage was mediocre at best. I'm not going to put the masseuse on blast, but she kept asking me to check in about the pressure. It was definitely way too hard. I told her that it was too hard and she didn't change the pressure. I now have bruises. You know....I just walked out of there, I spent a lot of money and I don't know it was eh...I will say that the lunch that I had there was excellent. It was probably top 20 meals I've ever had. I had the hamburger and truffle fries and the flourless chocolate cake. It's such a beautiful spot but I definitely think that they have to keep in mind that they're charging a lot and you have to feel like you're getting your money's worth. For me, it was fine for the day, but I would've been pissed if I was getting married there that weekend or staying there and paying for services at that price I just think that there should be more. I don't know thats my review. Eh...... and the busy season hasn't even started.

The last time I went Gurneys, was probably over 12 years ago. It was a corporate weekend getaway and I thought it was the best event I had attended with the company based off location, amenities and the resort in general. One week ago, I returned with my wife and kids for more than just dinner. A actual weekend stay, kids included. The kids included was something we were really nervous about since we gave the Au pair off that weekend. I didn’t remember Gurneys as a place that would be kid friendly. It worked out perfectly, thanks to the temperament of the staff, the resort itself and the off season. The staff was amazing with the kids and the pool was awesome. The recommendations to entertain the kids were spot on. Hopefully, we can double back soon or this summer as a romantic getaway without the kids.
