LIAR'S SALOON

This pub is the quintessence of Old Montauk, meaning the pre-gentrification Montauk. It is an unpretentious café where you can drink beer for US$1, surrounded by old sea lions who have been hanging around since 1984. The bar, located on the shores of Lake Montauk, organizes karaoke every Friday evening from 10pm. Liar's signature drink is mudslide, a kind of alcoholic smoothie made from kahlua, milk chocolate and ice cubes that are mixed. The house, which only closes on Christmas morning, is known to remain open 364 days a year.
