Gorgeous building and views with enormous, luxurious rooms. But there’s no restaurant on the premises and they offered only a cold, poor quality breakfast you’d see at a Holiday Inn (supermarket bagels and gross danishes, peanut butter packets). The (very nice) room lacked basic amenities such as tea and decaf options and facial tissue, and the coffee pot had stagnant water in it and needed to be washed. Reception staff cold.

Just recently stayed here and although a little concerned about some bad reviews. David at the front desk couldn’t have been more accommodating. Room was very spacious and clean very quiet. Was a great experience and I hope they continue.

A friend celebrated her 50th birthday. Staff was very friendly.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time here! Our room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was wonderful. The property was really lovely and totally a new experience for us. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a quiet, relaxing experience away from the everyday chaos. If you're looking to go on adventures, there are nearby towns within 10-15 minutes. If you like to party, respectfully not the place you because it's quiet and tame. For those of us loungers, it's a dream come true!

My wife and I had a lovely stay at the Castle Hotel and Spa, to our surprise on check in we were upgraded to a larger suite. The room was very spacious, had great views of the Hudson and was really cozy for a weekend getaway out of the city. The staff was all very courteous and everything was clean. Only downside was the Spa and Restaurant were still under renovation so we will have to come back and try them out. Otherwise, Tarrytown has a lot of great restaurants that we were able to explore. Overall for the price, history and service, I would recommend a stay!

Look the website paints a nice visual picture of yesteryear with updated amenities. The reality -- the place is old, needs a ton of CLEANING, maintenance, and is a true 1 or 1.5 stars out of 5 stars hotel. My room (suite # 2) had no elevator, a lot of stairs, a grumpy & tired check-in attendant, a dead plant, old furniture, a lumpy bed, stained countertops and a very old tub/shower. Skip this hotel is you can.

First I will have to start by talking about the view and the overall look of this castle, it is absolutely beautiful and gives the feel of luxury.
The place is nicely decorated and the rooms are large and elegant, my room of choice was the premier King and it was more space than I imagined.
Service was good until the shift changed, I had left the hotel and forgot something so I asked the person at the front desk if he could deliver a message for me to the room and that took some back and forth before he finally did but other than that service was amazing.
I love the location because it's not right off white plains main road like most of the other hotels in it's vicinity.. it's somewhat secluded yet right in the same area with access to restaurants and other amenities. I highly recommend this hotel if you have a special person you want to impress and there is also a spa that opens up in the springtime you can book with arrangements to utilize the spa during that time you definitely won't regret it. thank me later

For a "luxury hotel and spa" it seems to me that I should have been informed prior to getting here that not only is the spa closed, but the dining room and the bar are also closed. Until April. But they're still charging a daily resort fee. Not a happy guest.

My family has stayed here many times since the late 1990's. This property was beyond breath taking. It was a Relias Chateau Property. The hotel from the moment you
drove up, from the valet to the bell cap, to the front desk personnel, the service was amazing. There hotel sparkled!!!!! The Equus Restaurant was amongst the best in the area as well as the cocktail lounge. We could always looked forward to relaxing with a classic cocktail and some of those amazing J M Macy Cheese Crisps. Well, that seems a million years from what we walked into this weekend. My husband had been talking about a weekend there to see how it was, so he treated me to a weekend getaway as a Christmas/Birthday gift. Well, from the start there was no visible valet until they paged him, there is no bell cap so you are required to lug your luggage and belongings yourself. The check in did not go much better as we Book Parlor Suite 1, and were put in Parlor Suite 2. No big deal! You can tell the place does not get cleaned regularly, the beautiful staircase has a carpet runner and where the wood is exposed was full of dust and pine needles: Christmas was a month ago!!!! The carpets in the entry and thru out the hotel were not vacuumed one time during our stay, they were full of rock salt from the outside. The room was the same issue, dust on the interior of the lamps, stained shades, chipping paint, visible water damage to the ceiling, refrigerator was barely cold, safe did not work, couch pillow were crushed from the last person that sat there and were not fluffed, extension cords and power strips in the room. Carpets are old and felt like that under you feet. We called to get the safe fixed and where first told 15-20 minutes, then we called again and the engineer was looking for a key and that was the last time we heard from anyone again. Each morning they offered a Continental Breakfast which consisted of cold bagels and muffins, a small dish of cantaloupe and pineapple, apples, breakfast bars, yogurt and instant oatmeal and coffee and tea. Not the worst, but the table clothes clearly never get changed as they were full of crumbs and stains from one day to the next and the trash that we left in the pail the previous afternoon was still there the next morning. When we checked out, my husband was bringing all the luggage down the stairs, the two gentleman sitting at the front desk talking, saw him, but did not even ask if he needed assistance, needless to say there was no valet on staff on Sunday and we had to find and get our own car. Now, when we checked out, I shared these views with the staff, again it is not there fault, they work for the Haycreek group of boutique Hotels, which make sense because they own the Roundhouse in Beacon and that place has gone downhill as well. I am sad to say I probably will never go back here again, as it was so disappointing to see such a beautiful, historic property being disrespected. This place needs a serious infusion of money to bring it back to its glory.

Beautiful place. We went off season, which I like. Make sure to check their website because the spa & restaurant aren't open all year round. If you don't valet there is a little bit of a walk but not bad. The rooms were huge, so much bigger than what I expected for the cheapest option.

We booked a stay expecting luxury but were deeply disappointed. Within 30 minutes of arrival, we decided to leave. The room was in poor condition, with evident neglect in cleaning. We found remnants of food in the fridge and clothes from previous guests in the closet, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, the room's temperature was uncomfortable due to the vents erratically blowing both hot and cold air. Upon addressing these issues with the front desk, their response was underwhelming. They merely provided DIY instructions to fix the air conditioning unit, which is not what one anticipates in a so-called luxury hotel. Consequently, we felt compelled to check out immediately as the stay did not meet our expectations for comfort and service.

Upon arriving, met a nice young man at the front desk. He was very accommodating and showed us to our room. It was a Castle Fireplace Suite on the top floor of the tower. The room was dated, but it’s a castle so it shouldn’t look modern, right? Noticed tiny dead bugs on all the windowsills in the living area. The heating system worked great. The fireplace was actually replaced with an electric insert. That was a big disappointment. The bathroom was modernized and clean. The tub had no water pressure at all, but the shower worked fine. The bedroom was a separate room. The bed linens were plush and comfortable. We knew beforehand that the restaurant was closed. Not sure if it is under refurbishment, but when googled, it says permanently closed. There were no lounges open either. The free continental breakfast was typical and the staff was very helpful. I booked the room at good discounted rate so it was fine. Staying in a castle was cool, but I would only return if the restaurant and lounge reopens.

We had a lovely stay here at the castle. It's a very unique and elegant venue. Quiet and peaceful to relax. Front desk staff were super nice and went above and beyond. I'm a Marriott person so I usually don't book boutique hotels but I'm really glad I did.

It was alright, but honestly, I wouldn't tell my buddies to check it out. The staff was cool, no doubt, but for the cash we dropped, it didn't feel as fancy as they claim. The room was kinda meh – not too clean, and the ancient TV and busted speakers didn't help. And breakfast? Yeah, that was a letdown. It's a shame 'cause the place looks cool, but at least it was chill and had a decent view.

We had a good stay. Especially Kevin went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Highly recommended ????

This place was absolutely amazing, we did have some issues with our reservations at first but they squared everything away.
They gave us a tour of the whole castle and even took us to the top of it, we had a great view and we could see New York City off in the distance.
The front staff was great, other than one guy, apparently his phone call was more important than helping someone.
Their breakfast was simple, oatmeal, fruit and juice.
We went during a time when there was no one in the hotel and it was great.
I'd definitely stay there again.

There is nothing luxury about this hotel. — don’t let the website deceive you!! My family and i stayed here two nights as part of a girls trip and it was beyond disappointing.

1) Upon check in we find out all food and spa amenities are closed for the season which was a bummer. In general it looks like the pool, hot tub and outside amenities havent been used in years though.

2) Everything in the rooms is beyond dated. Some of the lamps flicker when using. Tvs from the early 2000s.

3) Our bathroom had mold on the ceiling.

4) Continental breakfast included cheap bagels, muffins, fruit and yogurt cups. On the second morning we were there, staff was “running late” and opened the breakfast 45 minutes late.

The only positive thing about this place is that the beds were surprisingly comfy. I don’t recommend this place unless that’s all you are needing for your trip.

I can't tell if I want to rate this place a 3 or a 4. On one hand, it was really cool to stay in a castle! On the other hand, the guy at the front desk at night made me feel like a burden just asking questions. We got here after a 9 hour drive without food, and I noticed both on the website and inside our room on a pamphlet it mentioned there were snacks and food available 24/7. When I went downstairs and asked about this, the guy said "do you see any food over here?" and told me to DoorDash something.

The rooms were nice enough, and the breakfast wasn't bad, but it was pretty much just bagels and some fruit. No protein.
