This protected area located on the south face of the island combines a huge white sand beach, dunes and hiking trails. Birds can be seen here, as well as a well-preserved fauna. In summer it is crowded, but the rest of the year it is a haven of peace. To explore it, you can follow the Long Point Wildlife Refuge Trail, a 4.6 mile hiking trail that starts at Scrubby Neck Road and loops down to the ocean.
