CIRCUIT DE NEVERS-MAGNY-COURS
Created in 1961 by Jean Bernigaud and Charles Ardoin, this circuit is a high place of competition of mechanical sports.
The Nevers-Magny-Cours circuit is the heir to the Jean Behra circuit, created in 1961 by Jean Bernigaud and Charles Ardoin at the place called Les Gallières, on the site of a former field hospital. From the first success of the Englishman Tony Maggs on Cooper on May 29, 1961, to those of Jacques Lafitte, René Arnoux and Alain Prost, the circuit has always been one of the high points of motor sport competition. Today, it is redesigned, with curves belonging to the most prestigious circuits. Since 1991, and until 2008, it has hosted 18 Formula 1 French Grand Prix, as well as several other renowned car, motorcycle and truck competitions. It is possible for you, on reservation and outside the competition periods, to visit the circuit: with the explanations of your guide, go behind the scenes of this prestigious place, access the heart of the infrastructures, press rooms, podium, video pc, panoramic terrace... It is interesting to complete this visit with that of the Conservatoire de la Monoplace Française (attention, establishment open only during competitions and events). Visits only by reservation.
