It is the very first underwater and terrestrial national park created in the Bahamas in 1958. It is managed by the Bahamas National Trust and covers an area of 280 km ²! This area is a refuge for protected species that is accessible only by sea. Sanctuary of the fauna and flora of the Bahamas, one will meet many reptiles, rare birds and multicoloured flowers on land while its underwater bottom will reveal many blue holes and beautiful caves.
