THE DUCAL PALACE
Built in the th century on order of the counts of Zuñigas, its imposing silhouette flanked by two towers dominates part of the city. You can access it from Calle de Francia after climbing the stairs that end the street. From the original building, high on a former medieval castle, only the façade of the th and the central façade remain. It is on this latter that you can read the dedication made by Cervantes to the Duke of Béjar in El Quijote. The interior patio is also Renaissance. Since this building is now home to a high school, you can only visit the patio, but we also have access to the north tower which houses the oscura oscura which allows you to observe the entire city, its surroundings and the mountain.
