Since 1997, the professionals of this agency have been the pioneers of canyon tours in the region, so much so that their name (Matacanes) has been confused with the most famous attraction in the area. They take you on a one-day tour (departure at dawn), but it is highly recommended to spend the night in their base camp in Potrero Redondo. Here, the huts (private or refuge type with several beds for groups) are all made of wood and perfectly integrated into the coniferous forest. The bar-restaurant of the place is simply hyper warm and the common spaces impeccable: hammocks, space for campfire to grill meat and even a whirlpool bath in the open air. At nightfall, you can go down to the plain below, where a wooden platform has been set up to lie down and watch the stars: they twinkle in the sky, but also around the trees in the form of hundreds of fireflies that flash in the rainy season. A magical place, exotic and terribly endearing. The packages offered all include transportation to Potrero Redondo, equipment for the descent of the canyons (four different options, which means that you can stay four nights since each activity lasts a full day), accommodation and meals.
