MENOU CASTLE
Some of them called this castle the "Versailles du Nivernais". In 1672, the Noble manor house, Châtellenie châtellenie, was destroyed by fire. The reconstruction of the castle of Nanvignes on the plans of the architect Barthélémy Le Blanc is launched. In June 1697, Nanvignes was built in donated and took the name Menou. Indeed, Armand-François de Menou was named Marquis by Louis XIV as a reward for his arms. At the beginning of the th century, the castle was abandoned and suffered greatly from the up of the woodwork, the recovery of materials and the occupation of Germany. Since 1987, the castle has been in restoration, allowing you to admire it through its grids. It is indeed a private property that does not visit.
