LILI JAUREGIA / PALACIO LILI
Discovery of the cave and the small gothic palace in Zestoa, with visits illustrating daily life in the 17th century
On the edge of the cave visit, don't miss to make a leap in this small Gothic palace restored in 2012 and where you will be able to organise théâtralisées visits illustrating daily life in the region in the th century. Many furniture and everyday objects are exposed in the different rooms open to the course which, from the body of custody to the kitchens by way of the rooms, open all the doors of this vast residence, one part of which was unfortunately destroyed by Napoleon's troops. Note in the kitchen, facing the fireplace, that typical Basque furniture with its very high file which allowed to sit down in front of the chimney without fear of air currents in the back. Under the cupboards, you will see hens cages. At the time, the crumbs and leftovers were thrown directly to their ultimate consumers.
