The House of the Seasons, one of Jefferson's largest and most beautiful villas, can be visited. Built in the 1870s by a wealthy local entrepreneur and politician, it is stylistically somewhere between Greek Revival and Victorian architecture. Inside and out, through the gardens and reception rooms, the décor is magnificent and timeless. A few historic objects and touches are worth noting, including the moonshine distiller, which has been around since the days of Prohibition.
