SHAHRZAD
The oldest restaurant in the city still active, the Shahrzad pays homage to the Thousand-and-One Nights and opened its doors in 1967. Very popular with the Esfahanis and tourists, it aligns the tables in a large room that is joined by a steep staircase. The decoration is in a qadjar style, with thumbnails (greatly enlarged!) and colorful ceramics. Moucharabiehs side windows, chandeliers, medallions on the ceiling, biseautés mirrors and central patio complete the decor. Tables are aligned and sometimes compiled for groups. Low tables are appreciated at the back of the room, for a more intimate atmosphere. The hotel was very clean. The house is well-known for its Turkish and shrimp skewers. You will also be able to taste an excellent tacheen, a parfumé rice with saffron and a grenade, and in the Dessert most, a stew of yogurt with lamb meat, honey and saffron: a treat!
