The oldest church in the province of Piacenza
The collegiate church of Castell'Arquato is the oldest church in the province of Piacenza. Built between 756 and 758, it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1117 and rebuilt in 1122 in the Romanesque style. The bell tower dates back to the 13th century, as does the cloister from which the small museum of the church can be accessed. Inside the collegiate church, don't miss the chapel of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, decorated with a cycle of 15th century frescoes.
