HAITI SURF GUEST HOUSE

When Chris and Joan, two children of children from the Landes, landed in Haiti to support the populations challenged by the earthquake, they fell in love with the country. It is by meeting Hawaii Ken Pierce on the Caribbean coast, with whom they share a few waves, that they decide to join the latter's project, teaching the slide to local youth through a surfing school. While Ken goes to other horizons, Chris and Joan continue to train young people, and finally decide to erect a house, their home, which will then become Guest House. The place is simply fantastic: Juices at the top of a morne (which is reached after 15 minutes on foot or 7 minutes on a rather difficult road, but carrots for a 4-wheel motor vehicle), the main house and its air of gigantic tropical cabin on 2 floors is an invitation to relax. From the second, we saw on the canopy… and in the distance, on the Caribbean flots. A few cozy bungalows are surrounded by the lush vegetation of the garden, and below, there is a swimming pool built on the passage of a freshwater courtyard, flanked by a bar (snack plates all day round: Crosses, Paninis, Salads, etc.) where a small and delicious breakfast is served every morning. Add to the possibility of surfing on an absolutely desert spot at 5 minutes from there (Chris rented equipment and lectured) and that to rally Jacmel in 20-25 minutes, and the account is good. An address for nature lovers and simple pleasures.
