Every 12 years, thousands of Jain pilgrims come to admire the statue of Gomateshwara being bathed in multiple colors.

It is an important Jain festival that takes place every 12 years for 10 days and attracts thousands of pilgrims. The last one took place in February 2018, the next one will be in 2030. The large statue of Gomateshwara Bahubali is bathed and anointed with water, milk, saffron paste and sprinkled with turmeric, sandalwood and vermilion powders. Each ingredient poured on the statue has a specific meaning that exalts the virtues of Bahubali. The spectacle of this ceremony conducted by Jain ascetics is unique
