The Art House Project is a tour through the Honmura district where old abandoned houses have been rehabilitated to house works by contemporary artists. Currently, the project includes seven sites in total: Kadoya, Minamidera, Kinza, Go'o Shrine, Ishibashi, Gokaisho and Haisha. Walking around the area, between each house, allows visitors to mingle with the residents and experience their daily lives. The contrast is interesting and provides some very nice surprises. An unmissable visit.
